Executive Committee Meeting

March 24, 1996

Charleston, West Virginia

Present: John Brown, Roger Fritz, John Sturgeon.

John Brown met with the Libertarian National Committee in Washington, DC about the ballot drive. He said that going in he felt we had a 40% chance of making the ballot, but coming out he felt 80% sure. They responded very well and assured John they would provide help for the drive.

Steve Dasbach of the LNC said they would "do what needs to be done".

We now have 6,675 raw signatures and need 7,000 more per the LNC. The committee feels 18,000 should be our goal due to the low validation rate.

There has been some response to the mailing to members asking for their help.

There was some press coverage in the March 22 Charleston Daily Mail.

The upcoming district meetings will need to be worked to get pledges for signatures.

Starting Monday March 25 we will get weekly updates on the signature count.
