HISTORY

Auto Mechanic (learned from his father's blacksmith shop in the LaSalle Community).

Moved around various auto dealerships in Texas during or just after the Great Depression.

Bus Driver/Auto Mechanic for Groesbeck Independent School District after WWII.

Farmer. Probably one of the last ones to plant cotton in the LaSalle Community. Boll weavils and grasshoppers and soil depleted; shifted almost entirely to cattle after that.

Deacon, Prairie Grove Baptist Church

He quit high school to work the farm and the blacksmith shop.

Remarried to Lydia Gant around late 1962/early 1963 after Mary Ella Burleson Croft died. Lydia Gant was previously married to a sheriff who died by gunshot.
