1998-02-04
David Croft gave two presentations to an audience of 44.
Of those in attendance, 2 were with the MtJUG (Mr. Croft
being one of them) and 2 were members of the Computer
Science department (the same 2). The other 42 were with
the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department.
No reason for these skewed numbers is known. It could be the
location, the heavy snow, or that one of the mail aliases
such as "all@cs.wvu.edu" failed to deliver the meeting
announcement.

Three new subscribers to the mailing list joined at the
end of the presentation.

No MtJUG business was discussed.

MtJUG Meeting Minutes, 1997-11-12 Wed

David Croft gave two short presentations on Java applets
and servlets to an audience of about 30. As guests of
the WVU IEEE Computer Society, roughly 5 or 6 of those
attending were known members of the MtJUG. The
presentations are archived at the following URL:
http://www.ece.wvu.edu/~ieee/computer/archives/info/

Afterwards, Srinivas Vangari, Tom Smith, and David Croft
met to discuss club business.

MtJUG assets were distributed, with one of each type of
item (t-shirts, books, CD-ROMs, magazines, etc.) that had
been donated from corporate sponsors, to those present.
We still have many items left.

The next meeting was discussed. It was agreed that meeting
anywhere other than WVU was a bad idea as many of the students
would not be able to make it. It was also agreed that the
next meeting should be no earlier than January.

Suggested topics for the next meeting included Java Beans,
RMI, Java Blend, and OQL. We are now seeking volunteer
speakers on any Java topic of your choosing.
