Update

2004-11-15

Our congratulations to the UTD GSC President, Nick Furl, on having earned his Ph.D.

About

The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) Graduate Student Council (GSC) is an official UTD student organization that represents the graduate student body. All UTD graduate students are considered members of this organization and may participate in the monthly meetings.

Our topics of concern include:

  • Improved health benefits for TA's and RA's especially related to the decreases of the last few years.
  • Concern regarding the downsizing of TA slots without much/or any prior notice which does not give them enought time to ensure new jobs.
  • TA's and RA's doing the teachers teaching.
  • Foreign students and the incident of replacing them with another TA due to students wanting a TA who speaks better English.
  • Rising cost of graduate school tution.
  • Library hours and lack of access to the library and other campus privilages (we have not forgotten about the printout issue).
  • More on/off campus jobs, co-op positions, TA/RA positions.
  • Inflexability of funds placed on the Comet Cards.
  • New RA/TA work hours and pay issues.
  • Any and all issues related to graduate students.

The UTD GSC meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 16:00 in the Student Union.
